Current state of research and teaching activities

Global Environmental Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Adaptation Science
My fields of interest are global environmental engineering and coastal engineering, such as 1) Vulnerability assessment and response strategy to global warming, 2) Impacts of sea-level rise, 3) Coastal environmental issues in the Asia and Pacific region, 4) Coastal erosion and water pollution, and 5) Environmental policies. I have worked for international researches such as IPCC, and participate in education in Dept. of Urban and Civil Eng. and Center for Water Env. Studies.

Research Areas

  1. Impact Assessment of Global Warming and Climate Change
  2. Adaptation Science for Global Environmental Change
  3. Coastal Engineering
  4. Environmental Management

Subject of research

  1. Assessment of impacts and adaptation to global warming 1991-2007
  2. Coastal environmental changes in the Asia and Pacific region 1991-2007
  3. Countermeasures against coastal erosion and coastal protection 1984-2007
  4. Coasatal policy and environmantal management 1993-Present
