Current state of research and teaching activities

[Research activities] His main research activities are in remote sensing and image processing. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Project Science Team for the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection radiometer (ASTER) developed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan as a part of NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS). He has also joined the International Science Study Group of NASA's HyspIRI Project since 2011, and JAXA's CIRC Project as a calibration scientist since 2013.

[Teaching activities] He has four classes (Fundamentals of Software, Information Network, Programming Practice III, and Image Processing) for Department of Computer and Information Sciences, College of Engineering. He has also two classes (Web Engineering, and Intelligent Remote Sensing) for Major in Computer and Information Sciences, Graduate School of Science and Engineering. He is also supervising research for four undergraduates, eight master students, and one research student in FY2019.
