Real-Time Surrounding Obstacle Figure and State Transferring Visual Sensory Substituted Tactile Display This research aimed at the development of direct and intuitive operational walking guide tactile display device ( TDG : Tactile Display Glove)development with the keyword of real-time walking rapid achievement, surrounding state recognition not only but also accurate distance perception to the barriers. We made essential trials on the analysis about the recognition characteristics of tactile stimulator allocation pattern and stimulating method 2005/04-2006/03
  2. Tactile Display Device indicating Human Face Position using Real Time Face Tracking Technology ビデオキャプチャボードを必要とせず、簡易型のビデオ入力装置のみを用い実時間で顔認識を行い、周囲のヒトの存在位置を触覚利用伝達装置で示すインターフェースの開発。視覚障害者が周囲に存在する人と積極的に話しかけることができ能動的なコミュニケーションを介助することを目指す。 2005/04-Present
  3. Real Time Human Friendly Robot Control using EEG signal 実時間での脳波(EEG)による入力インターフェースを開発している。EEGは動的に変化する背理信号の外乱により特徴解析が難しい(機能解析には積算平均化処理やダイナミックネットワーク利用が必要でリアルタイム化が困難)のが定説であるが、本研究ではある特定試行により再現性のあるパターンが0.5~1で検出されることを確認しリアルタイム制御入力として利用を行っている。具体的な信号利用としてロボット駆動やコンピュータ入力支援などを行っている。 1998/04-Present
  4. Self physical capacity diagnosis system as precaution and prophylaxis for Aging Society 高齢化にともなう疾病や事故を未然に防ぐ予防の意識が重要視されている。予防には自己体力を客観的に把握して意識と実際の体のギャップをなくすことが重要である。本研究では視覚追従動作におけるヒトの動作をモデル化しその特徴解析を行い、各年齢の認知判断能力、運動能力などの標準値を示し、高齢化の傾向がどのように現れるのかについて解析している。 1998/04-Present

Higher Level Vibration Damping Control Method using Lower Performance Actuator ( Model based predictive damping by counter pitch driving) 高速高精度位置決めには駆動系の弾性による残留振動が悪影響を及ぼすため同振動モードのアクチュエータを使って制振するのが通常の方法である。本研究では対象とする振動モードに対し従来制御性能が劣る(むだ時間を有し、駆動動作特性が劣る)アクチュエータのみで遅れ時間を考慮した制振制御法を用い、残留振動を従来の17.5%まで軽減し従来よりワンランク上の制振効果が得られることを確認している。 1998/04-1998/04

Research paper (scientific journal) Joint Sensing and Control of Friction in Positioning Masatake Shiraishi and Hideyasu Sumiya International Journal of Automation Technology Vol.7/ No.5, 476-481 2013/09/05 This paper focuses on a robust friction sensing methodology based on the sensor fusion via the neural network from AE(acoustic emission) sensors and the feedforward control for the compensation of friction.This compensation si found to be useful for positioning control when frictions applied to the system are adequately and robustly estimated. Encouraging transient response and steady-state control performance were observed in the experimental results of positioning control of a one-dimensional transmission mechanism. The proposed friction sensing and feed forward control can be applied without modifications for nanoscale positioning.

Research presentations

  1. Poster presentation Inner Pressure Control for External Airbag System ICPT2014 (the 6th International Conference on Positioning Technology) 2014/11/18 An external airbag system in which the airbags deploy outside the vehicle before a collision has been proposed. The developed system uses four airbags that are mounted inside the front and rear bumpers and both side doors. The problem in this system is “how to control inner pressure of airbags immediately after collision” so as to absorb the crash energy as much as possible. Firstly, a model of inner pressure variation in the airbag was given for this solution from the fluid dynamics standpoint and its simulation was performed by changing the outlet area and the crash load in the airbag system. According to the experiment, this model was basically approximated by the second order transfer function in which the input is a crash load and the output is the resultant inner pressure of the airbag. Secondly, a crash test was implemented at a vehicle speed of less than 50 km/h and the inner pressure change was measured at a collision to the truck tires with several airbag outlet areas. Experimental results show that the damping factor immediately after the collision is one of measures to absorb the crash energy if the outlet area of an airbag is adequately designed. They also suggest a possibility of the prediction of inner pressure change at a high speed crash over 50 km/h.

Oral presentation(general) Estimation and Application of Eye-Move-Direction Using Scalp Potential Analysis Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, Tokyo Branch, IBaraki Workshop 2013/11/24 脳波は人の行動や精神活動などに対し多くの情報 を含んでいる.そのため,EEG に始まる脳機能野解析 は基礎研究のみならずその応用についての開発例も 多く報告されている.しかし,脳内部を測定するた めには処理に多くの時間を有するという問題がある. そこで本研究では即応性を有するインターフェイス 構築のため,眼球動作に伴う頭皮上電位に着目した. 反映する電極位置の特定と電位時系列による眼筋誘 起電位自動判別について考察した.

This generation algorithm has advantage in calculation cost and unique approach using the characteristics of fluctuation mapping.

Oral presentation(general) Real Time Firefly (Blinking Object) Tracking and Illumination Saturation Correction Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, Tokyo Branch, IBaraki Workshop 2013/11/24 飛行時の蛍の明度測定は光センサでのトラッキングが困難であるため,固定カメラ取得画像解析による自動追尾とターゲット照度補正が必要である.しかし,明滅状態での生体の移動捕捉にはカメラの検出感度とラチチュード限界から光強度増大時に光源近傍の飽和が生じてしまう.比較的安定とされるLK法による類似光探索によるトラッキング法を用いても明滅過程で捕捉不可能となる.本稿では楕円推定[1][2]による飽和光源の中心位置推定による最終段階までのターゲット中心位置捕捉を可能した安定トラッキング手法と楕円適合後の飽和部面積から実際の光源の輝度推定手法について述べる.

Oral presentation(general) Analysis on Phase Shift Information of Natural Signal Fluctuation and Fast Generation Algorithm of Pseudo-Natural Fluctuating Signals JSME 2013 Ibaraki Workshop 2013/09/06 It has been reported to be effective healing using the 1/f fluctuation, that this is observed in the healing environment is known. In this study, it is an object of the present invention generation of pseudo-natural fluctuating signals. Analyzes the sounds waves sound pressure change of natural sounds, and confirmed the importance of the phase shift. This time, Result of calculating the mapping sound waves sound pressure, it was possible to observe the characteristics of the two-layer structure and mapping of the loop.We propose an algorithm that generates an fluctuating signal by using the formula 4 using the two features.
